Today, key stakeholders gathered to discuss the growing importance of digitalization for social partners across Europe. The event focused on the benefits and challenges brought by the digital transformation in the workplace and emphasized the need for a coordinated effort to ensure a fair and inclusive transition.
Digitalization is creating new job opportunities, improving productivity, and transforming work organization. However, these gains are not automatic. To fully harness its potential, labor markets, education systems, and enterprise strategies must evolve together.
Central to this effort is the Framework Agreement on Digitalization (FAD), a landmark document signed by the four European cross-sectoral social partners: BusinessEurope, ETUC, SGI Europe, and SMEunited. The agreement promotes a partnership-based approach to navigate the digital transition while respecting the diverse roles of employers and workers.
As part of implementing this agreement at national level, Romania’s National Council for Small and Medium Sized Private Enterprises (CNIPMMR) has launched the DigiSoc project. In collaboration with partners from six other EU countries—Spain, Lithuania, Italy, Hungary, Cyprus, and Slovenia—DigiSoc aims to:
Strengthen the capacity of national social partners;
Facilitate the exchange of good practices across Europe;
Promote, monitor, and evaluate national and European social dialogue outcomes.
With the support of SMEunited at the European level, the DigiSoc project represents a step forward in preparing businesses and workers alike for the demands of the digital economy
