The Digital Kit Program, managed by Red.es under the State Secretariat for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, aims to promote the digitalization of small businesses, microenterprises, and self-employed individuals, and contribute to modernizing Spain's productive fabric. It is endowed with a budget of 3.067 billion euros, financed by the European Union through the NextGenerationEU funds, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, the Spain Digital 2025 agenda, and the SME Digitalization Plan 2021-2025. The program aims to digitalize SMEs and self-employed individuals across all productive sectors throughout the national territory over the next three years.
Red.es has published the partial modification resolution of the call for grants aimed at digitalizing small businesses with between 0 and less than 3 employees (segment III), which includes updates compared to the call for the same segment published on October 12, 2022. This modification specifies that the amount of the grants for this segment of businesses will be 3,000 euros.
In the modification, the maximum amounts of aid for each category of digitalization solutions are detailed, along with the deadlines for using the grant, the conformity declaration model, among other details of the grant. Furthermore, this partial resolution of the call increases the budget by 500 million euros, which, together with the initial budget, totals 1,000 million euros aimed at improving the competitiveness and digital maturity level of companies in this segment.
For those companies in Segment III who have been beneficiaries of the Kit Digital Program for an amount of 2,000 euros, and whose aid has not been extinguished due to resignation or any other cause, they may request the additional 1,000 euros through a declaration of conformity via their file on the Red.es Electronic Headquarters.
Whether the entity is a new applicant or an existing beneficiary seeking the additional 1,000 euros, the deadline for using the grant will be six months from the date of award.
The grants are non-competitive and will be awarded directly and on a first-come, first-served basis, once the checks on compliance with the requirements specified in the call have been carried out.
New solution category: Safe Workplace
Microenterprises and self-employed individuals will be able to acquire one or several digitalization solutions from the following catalogue: website and online presence, social media management, e-commerce, customer management, virtual office services and tools, business intelligence and analytics, process management, electronic invoicing, secure communications, cybersecurity, advanced online presence, Marketplace, and the new solution "Safe Workplace".
The "Safe Workplace" solution includes a hardware device that must be integrated into the product and its price, a license that meets the requirements established for Category X in Cybersecurity, as well as encryption for data at rest to ensure the privacy of stored data and documents on the device.
This category aims to promote task automation, efficient data management, and seamless communication. The goal is to enhance productivity and competitiveness within this segment in a secure environment.
More than 388,000 grants awarded
To date, the Kit Digital program has awarded more than 388,000 grants across all open calls and throughout the national territory. This means that over 1.6 billion euros from the Recovery Plan have been allocated to small businesses, microenterprises, and self-employed individuals in the country to implement basic digitalization solutions.
